Why Glass?

For more than 400 years, glass has been the preferred packaging choice for the food and beverage industry. Studies indicate that no other packaging option comes close to the same level of purity, protection and recyclability.

Glass is made from three natural substances – Sand, Limestone and Soda Ash. It is the only packaging material that doesn’t require an extra layer to protect freshness or flavour.  Being a non-porous and inert material means it will not leach any synthetic chemicals into its contents.


Glass is 100% recyclable with no loss in strength or quality. The closed loop recycling process means a recycled glass container becomes a new glass container without waste. This avoids down-cycling, landfilling or incineration. Should any glass find itself in landfill, its inert nature means it is a non-hazardous waste material and will not give off and harmful greenhouse gases? Approximately 30% less energy is required to melt recycled glass, saving energy, resources and pollution in the form of CO2 emissions.

Beer drinkers agree that beer tastes better when packaged in glass bottles, also portrays a premium image and enhancing shelf appearance.

Wine drinkers by an overwhelming margin prefer glass to preserve the quality and flavour of the wine.
